In Trentino a 'maso' is a typical rural construction where life has a particular pace and where the culture of farming is deeply rooted in the ground. This is also the case of MASO MARTIS. In the late 19th century it was the Vintage House, the home of the 'masadori', the peasant family who worked on the land for their nobleman. The estate is in Martignano, at the foot of Mount Calisio, in a small village above the city of Trento. It lies 450 m. a.s.l. in a splendid position kissed by the sun where nature, skill, passion and dedication blend and pulsate in the wines produced, authentic jewels of Trentino. In the eighties the Stelzer family bought the maso and the old farmhouse was altered and refurbished. The old stables were turned into a cellar for the maturarion of wines and sparkling wines and the barns became the premises for wine making and bottling, drying the grapes, a laboratory and offices. The loft where the hay used to be stored was made into an apartment. The land was cleared of the existing cultivations by sheer hard work and in 1986 an area of twelve hectares was entirely planted with grapevines.

Moscato Rosa grafted on SO4 - hand pruned.
Short pruning - organic fertiliser - controlled grass between vines- irrigation by rainwater as required.
Grapes hand picked into baskets and immediately crushed. Controlled fermentation with skins and storage in steel tanks until bottling.

The grapes, dried after harvesting, are crushed around the end of autumn
Chardonnay C.L. 130 grafted on SO4 - distance between vines: 3.2m. x 0.8m. - Pergola trentina system.
Short pruning - organic fertiliser in alternate years - controlled grass between vines- irrigation by rainwater as required - grapes thinned out during growth to improve quality.
Grapes hand picked into 10 kg. boxes after careful selection.
The grapes are taken from the boxes and laid out to dry in a cool, airy room for several months. The whole grapes are then crushed and fermented at a controlled temperature of 18°-20°C.
After a variable period of ageing in small oak barrels, the wine is bottled.

This Wine, resulting from a meticulous selection and careful handling of the grapes, is rich in aroma and bouquet, which is accentuated by aging in wooden barrels
Chardonnay C.L. 130 grafted on Kober 5BB - distance between vines: 3.2m. x 0.8m. Pergola Trentina system.
Short pruning organically fertilized every other year, controlled grass growth between vines, drop irrigation as needed.

Immediately after the grapes are hand picked and placed into small baskets, the whole grapes are delicately crushed and fermentation begins in wooden barrels. Afterwards, the yeast is separated from the wine and aging continues in the bottle.

Not more than 10,000 kg/hectare

Pruning to reduce buds per plant - organic fertiliser - controlled grass between vines- irrigation by rainwater as required.
Grapes hand picked into baskets and immediately crushed. Controlled fermentation with selected yeasts, at 25-30° in steel tanks. After fermentation, the skins are removed and the wine is stored in wooden barrels for ageing. It is then bottled.
